Tacos El Autlense in Albany

The ONLY taco truck l eat from. Periodt....my ex, who is allergic to practically everything non organic, was able to eat from the Truck and not get sick. 8 years of consistent quality!

I was there a few months ago and wasn't impressed. I've been there again, twice, in the last 2 weeks or so. The tacos were amazing, I had a variety of meats and were just great. I will definitely be going back more often

Super yummy and not expensive

This place is a taco truck, where you can order your tacos and eat them back in the bar (Hotsy Totsy) or you can take your tacos to eat them back home. Besides that, there is no place (table or chairs) to sit down to have tacos with your family. We've tried carnitas, pastor, asada (beef), and birria (made with beef, not goat.) You cannot go wrong with carnitas or pastor. If you have picky eaters with you, you can ask to put cilantro/onions/sauce on the side. We also tried the ceviche and it's very fresh fish. This is an Albany gem and it has a long wait because of its competitive prices, but totally worth it.

Oh lawd! The Lengua taco! Why did it take so long for me to try this? Nothing against the mighty carne asada, but the beef tougue taco is on another level! Id originally would give it 4 stars due to the long wait times, but I never want this business to die and the quality of tacos are just the best in the area.

I have waited over an hour in line for these tacos. Yes, they are that good.

The food is so worth the wait! Best taco truck I've ever had! Very nice staff and just cannot express how amazing the tacos were! Definitely get what you pay for! Ask for the hottest salsa, sooooooo yummy!

The food tasted fresh & savory!What we ordered:1 AL Pastor burrito with Guac & Sour on the side.3 carnitas tacos.What we got:AL pastor burrito with avacado and sour inside2 Carnitas tacos.The food was soOoOoOo good and we'll definitely be coming back. But... We're gonna keep our order straightforward and check the quantities of everything before we leave from here on out.

Expensive tacos but whatever they were actually decent. I can't give them 5 stars cuz they are sloooooow and prices are a bit much. Also my mom makes 5 star tacos so yeah. Definitely go there tho just don't loiter

Food and customer service are always amazing

Moved to Berkeley today, unsure if I’d stay. I have been living in Phoenix where good Mexican is abundant and was worried it would be hard to find here. It want, it’s delicious, and I love that the lady didn’t even try to speak English. After this burrito, I’m probably staying.

My go to place for flavorful burritos and tacos. Whatever they put in their salsa is awesome!

Went here after church with 5 of my buddies and we were all blown away by how amazing the food was. Tacos, burritos, tortas, meats, ingredients and flavors were all totally on point. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area. Well worth the stop even if it's a few miles out of your way.

If you like street food, these are the best tacos I ever had..it is open till midnight...they have vegetarian, chicken, beef tacos, burritos and there is a pub next to the truck where you can take the food from the truck...

Stupendous. Delicious, juicy & with tons of flavor (tacos al pastor)....there's even a great bar next door with take home margaritas (paired perfectly with thd hibiscus margarita).Clean truck with an affordable with authentic Mexican / Hispanic eats!!Heading back again today.

This is my favorite spot for burritos in the East Bay. My favorite is the pastor, but everything is good. There is a vegetarian burrito option that's not on the menu. Make sure to get some green salsa before you go. You can take your food into the bar next door and get a drink, play some shuffleboard. Or take it to go to the Marina or Indian rock. Yum!

I hate to even leave a bad review because I've been coming here for years, but I was highly upset and disappointed to find out that the chicken burrito I ordered was steak. Especially since I don't eat red meat and of course I didn't notice til after I took a bite. There was no one in front of me and no one behind me in line and she confirmed twice that it was chicken, once when I ordered and when she handed me the food so I don't understand how they gave me steak. This is still my favorite taco truck but after a long day of work and commute this is very irritating. I was looking forward to that burrito all day SMH

I am in love with these tacos and the people who provide them. Very kind, food is super reasonably priced, and it is just delicious. You may have to wait a bit if they are busy, but your patience pays off -- The turn around is only slow when they are busy and they are literally working out of a taco truck! Thank you for always being consistently good. Oh, and they have great horchata too!

We love this taco truck! While the wait can be long, I have so far felt it's worth it. My favorite is the pastor burrito or taco, it's always so tender and juicy, which is often not my experience with other places. Their veggie tacos are loaded with beans, rice lettuce and salsa. We have yet to order something that doesn't fit the bill. Thank you tacos autlense!

$9 burrito that only has beans, steak and lots of rice. I’m thinking they forgot to put tomatoes, cilantro and cheese because there was barely any in it. Not worth $9.00.

Really great tacos at a reasonable price. Why not 5 stars? A bit slow to turn over the orders...and if you get there at peak time, you got at least a 30-minute wait, well worth it but just be warned.

The Best Taco’s in El Cerrito! And the price is Right!

Tacos are excellent. Strong classic salsas. Maybe adding more variety to the salsas would make it better.

This has been my to go place for authentic street tacos. They have a variety of meat;asada , carnitas, pollo, birria, lengua and cabeza. Also they carried ceviche , consome, torta and burritos. You can get your food and eat it inside the bar.

The perfect tacos. Since my ratings only reflect the quality of the food I'll give it 5 stars, but the long wait and lack of seating really affect the appeal of this place. If they opened a restaurant that could handle more customers then I would visit a lot more.

The best taco tick by far in the Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito area. Everything is cooked to order, so if there is a line it takes a few minutes. All of the meat choices are excellent.

It's the best taco truck in the area. Their carnitas are the best. It not only is the best but also cost effective. And next to a bar that makes great whiskey sours. I probably go here once a week. I get tacos or a burrito. All the meats are delicious. Carnitas just happen to be my favorite

I had Birria, Carne Asada and Al pastor. Everything was absolutely delicious. Will drop by next time in the neighborhood. Any one should.

The tacos are lack a good amount of meat, the salsa tastes poorly and the they taste like over burnt oil.The quesadillas are fried! It's horrible! The salsa does not taste good and it's also very much oily like the rest of the food I spent $15.50 for 4 tacos a chess quesadilla and a Sunkist.Definitely not worth even $5.

The flavors are great. The taco Tuesday all you can eat can use additional side dish besides radish, cilantro, onion, jalapeno, and salsa. Good drinks.

There's not too many taco wagons that I will eat at but this one is run by Christians.. it's super clean the food is great and they cook it fresh may take an extra five minutes of waiting but well worth it...

The Tortas are off the chain, grab a cocktail next door at the Hotsy Totsy Club!
